What is SURA?

SURA is a simple utility for establishing a secure connection to Syracuse University computing resources.  Using SURA will allow you to:

• Access University network drives (H and G drives) *
  
• Easily establish a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection from nearly anywhere on the internet to Syracuse University’s computing network
  
• Find and connect to network printers *
  
• Access your e-mail through a web-based interface
  
• Connect to your dedicated office PC through a Remote Desktop connection *

SPSS will be honoring current license codes until December 1st, 2008.  ICT will be sending out new codes when they become available.  We do not expect any lapse in SPSS licensing.

ICT is upgrading the server hardware running the following sites.  Following this update the procedure for updating page content will change.  This new method will apply to sites hosted on the following web servers after the listed dates:

• classes.maxwell.syr.edu (upgrade completed)
• faculty.maxwell.syr.edu (upgrade completed)
• student.maxwell.syr.edu (upgrade completed)
• sites.maxwell.syr.edu (upgrade completed)
• staff.maxwell.syr.edu (upgrade completed) 

A new University Committee on Copyright has been created and tasked with overseeing that the use of copyrighted works on campus is consistent with federal law, University policy and the University's academic mission.

The Maxwell School's wireless network has been upgraded to a more secure technology (802.1x).  This wireless network is known campus-wide as "AirOrangeX".  The older "Maxwell-School" wireless network is no longer in service.  Additionally, the older campus wireless technology (AirOrange) and its login/access page (http://airorange.syr.edu) will only support PDA access.
